Cara Mckinnon Crawford is one of Scotland's most established artists. Her bold, but sensitive mastery of oil paint result in beautiful interpretations of some of the country's most iconic land and seascape. A graduate of the Glasgow School of Art, her success as a painter has led to her being described as "The new Scottish Colourist".
Cara travels the length and breadth of the country to lesser known corners, from Dunnet Head in the far North, Wester and Easter Ross, Ardnamurchan and many of the Scottish islands; Colonsay, Jura, Mull, Gigha, Islay, Iona and Skye to name but a few. Cara searches for unique and individual compositions, which in turn lead to the dramatic and atmospheric paintings with which she is associated. Glasgow, Edinburgh, other Scottish cities and the flora and fauna that Cara encounters on her travels, also become the her inspiration.
